The Legacy
Since the 1990s, hundreds of businesses, cities, and school districts in Kansas and Missouri have worked with two long-standing CC&C coalitions, based in St. Louis and Kansas City. These two coalitions, Kansas City Regional Clean Cities and Communities and the Eastern Missouri Alliance For Clean Transportation, have helped partners to upgrade their fleets, improve air quality and save money by swapping petroleum with cleaner, cheaper alternatives.
But with only two coalitions covering such a wide region, many communities lacked regular access to CC&C support and resources.
Now, that’s changing.
With assistance from the US Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Office, Kansas City Regional Clean Cities and Communities, along with the Eastern Missouri Alliance For Clean Transportation welcome three new Department of Energy-designated coalitions to our regional network.
