Our Vision
The Nebraska Clean Cities and Communities Coalition (NEC4) vision is to be Nebraska's leading resource for advancing alternative fuels, energy-efficient mobility systems, and fuel-saving technologies.
Our Mission
The Nebraska Clean Cities and Communities (NEC4) mission is to reduce petroleum consumption in transportation by promoting alternative fuels, advanced vehicles, and sustainable transportation practices. Through collaboration, technical assistance, and education, we support efforts that improve air quality and foster a healthier, more energy-secure Nebraska.
Webinar
Electric Vehicles and Their Batteries: A Life Cycle Perspective on Environmental Impacts
Nov. 22, 2-3 p.m. ET
Life cycle analysis (LCA) is used to evaluate the environmental impact of products, processes, and systems. Argonne National Laboratory’s R&D GREET model (Greenhouse Gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy Use in Technologies) has been developed over the past 30 years to support LCA across many products and sectors. This webinar will discuss the development of the R&D GREET model along with its application to electric vehicles and their batteries.
Coalition Stakeholders
Coalitions are composed of businesses, fuel providers, vehicle fleets, state and local government agencies, and community organizations. Our stakeholders share information and resources, inform public policy, educate the public, and collaborate on transportation projects. Stakeholders have access to an array of resources including:
- Networking opportunities with fleets and industry partners
- Technical training, workshops, and webinars
- Information resources on electric and alternative fuels, advanced vehicles, idle reduction, energy efficient mobility systems, and other strategies and technologies
- Data-driven interactive tools, calculators, and mapping applications to determine an appropriate solution
- Funding opportunities from the U.S. Department of Energy
- Information about funding sources from state and local government agencies, nonprofits, and foundations
- Assistance with funding applications
- Public recognition for progress in implementing alternative fuels and energy-efficient vehicle and mobility technologies
- Assistance with media outreach
